community involvement
We love to support our community, we do this by participating and giving back to multiple organizations in the Grand Rapids area.

Denise Hamill, founder of Run 4 a Cause started this organization in 2010. Since then, our events have accumulated just over $120K for the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.

The Run 4 a Cause... Our Kids! 5K Run /Walk and 1.5 mile Family Fun Run helps raise funds and awareness for life-saving services at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Last year, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital cared for more than 190,000 children from West Michigan and beyond. Through the generosity of the community, children are able to receive world-class care right here in Grand Rapids. Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is improving the quality of life for the brave and extraordinary children and families who struggle with the adversity of illness and injury.

2012 Run 4 a Cause

Proceeds from this event will benefit two vital programs at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital: Child Life Services and Pediatric Hematology & Oncology. We also hold an annual bowling event every year to support and kick off our annual run.

All of our services are offered in a child-friendly, sensitive, and safe environment and are free of charge to all children and nonoffending family members. We serve the entire Kent County area. The Center also works with a call-out team to provide emergency care in the thirteen counties making up West Michigan on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
